Villanova on Set

Applications are being accepted for the 2018 Villanova on Set Program. Villanova on Set (VOS) is designed to expose Villanova students to the various facets of the Hollywood television and film industry. Over a 6-day period, students will gain an understanding of the culture and geography of Los Angeles, the creative and production processes, the importance of networking, and the basics of business and media management. Program Dates: Sunday, March 4, 5:00 pm to Friday, March 9, 2018, 5:00 pm

Daily Program: will vary to include site visits, networking with Villanovans, presentations from individuals who work in the entertainment industry. Potential site visits include Sony Pictures, Walt Disney Studios, NBC Universal, HBO, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Technicolor, United Talent Agency, UCLA, and Illuminate. Potential social activities include tourist stops and sightseeing in and around Los Angeles and Hollywood. Deliverables: Each student will participate in pre-trip meetings and sessions with the cohort and will prepare an executive summary on a company/individual that is participating in VOS. During VOS, each student will introduce/present/lead the discussion at one or more of the sessions. After VOS, students will attend a final session on campus to share a final presentation in front of an audience of former participants, faculty, staff, and alumni.

Costs: $1,250 + travel to/from Los Angeles. $1,250 fee covers meals, hotel, entertainment, sightseeing, and transportation while on the ground in Los Angeles. Students are responsible for their own flight and transportation to the hotel on March 4th and from the hotel on March 9th.

Eligibility: Villanova students (undergraduate – sophomore or above, graduate, professional) who are returning to campus for the Spring 2017 semester. This will be a competitive program. Applications must be submitted by January 10, 2018.
