2018 Prompt

Sustainability calls us to change the world so that we can meet our current needs without compromising the well-being of future generations.

How would you create a more sustainable world?

To achieve sustainability, it is widely agreed that we must balance the following three pillars:

  1. Social – the ability of a social system to function at a defined level of economic productively indefinitely
  2. Economic – the ability to support a defined level of economic production indefinitely
  3. Environment – living within the means of our natural resources

When responding to the prompt, please think of sustainability in broad terms. While your response does not need to address each pillar, please consider ways in which the pillars can interact.
