Welcome Barbara Bigford as Entrepreneur-in-Residence!

The ICE Institute is pleased to welcome Barbara Bigford into her new position of Entrepreneur-in-Residence. A graduate of Columbia University, Barbara has gained immense experience in creative thinking and entrepreneurial development having founded her own business, Seabreeze Products. Seabreeze Products specialized in producing beach umbrellas and its innovative flagship product, the “weightless” umbrella anchor, that has been featured on The View, in The Wall Street Journal, and in Kiplinger Magazine. The company has since transitioned into a consulting firm that guides entrepreneurs in product development. Having turned over her business to new ownership, Barbara is excited to use the experience she has gained to help others in their ventures.

As a member of the ICE Advisory Council, Barbara has already been an active supporter of the Institute and has spoken and judged at various programs including ICE CaPS and Pitch Day. She is excited to take on this new role which will give her hands on opportunities to promote and develop ideas while mentoring students. When asked about her ambitions as an Entrepreneur-in-Residence, Barbara stated, “The opportunity is pretty much endless.” In particular, she is excited about bringing students from the various colleges across campus together with the newly created Idea Accelerator conveniently located in the center of campus in Falvey Memorial Library. Moreover, Barbara is thrilled to increase her involvement at Villanova as she has been greatly impressed with the extreme dedication displayed by ICE Institute and its director, II Luscri, and the caliber of excellence exhibited by the students and faculty at the university.
