Students and Organizations Connect at the Startup Opportunity Fair

IMG_1318The Ideas x Innovation Network (i2n), the Villanova ICE Center, and the Career Center held the Startup Opportunity Fair on Wednesday, November 12. Start-up companies from around the Philadelphia area pitched their companies and different opportunities ranging from internships, full-time jobs, and short-term and long-term projects. The companies varied from healthcare companies to technology companies. There were a plethora of opportunities available for students of different career interests and skill sets. Companies were looking for a wide variety of students, some of those being students who are interested in sales/marketing and software development.

After each company presented, Kevin Grubb from the Villanova University Career Center gave the students quick tips for networking from how to make a notable introduction to how to properly shake an employer’s hand.

Students were then given the chance to talk with prospective employers that they were interested in and to learn more about the potential opportunities. Students were given 45-minutes to network and enjoy delicious food catered by Flip and Bailey’s. This event exposed students to various potential job opportunities and helped students to learn about the fast-paced and creative startup environment.
