Alumnus Ryan Krill Returns to Villanova to Share His Entrepreneurial Experience with Students

IMG_0238 Villanova students filled the room for ICE’s Beyond Ideas Entrepreneurship Event to hear Ryan Krill (LAS ’05) share his personal experience with starting a business. Ryan, along with former classmate Chris Henke (COE ’05), founded Cape May Brewing Company in 2010 with nothing but a goal – create fresh, delicious beer. Combining their knowledge and experience, the pair built their own brewing system from scratch. In just a few short years, Cape May Brewing Company has tripled their building size, created nearly 20 unique beers, and has serviced over 40 bars and restaurants in South Jersey.

At the event, Ryan described both the perks and the hardships that come with being an entrepreneur. He answered students’ questions about his experience at Villanova, how his idea came to be, and the process of creating a startup business. Students left with a better understanding of how serious you have to be about an idea in order to turn it into something successful, but it is possible if you’re willing to work hard.
