Villanova Students and Faculty Participate in SAP Design Jam

VUsapVillanova made a strong showing at SAP’s Design Thinking Jam on June 20th. Eight Villanova students participated with 35 other college students in a day-long exercise that introduced an approach to rapid innovation. SAP’s goal is to help build the future business leaders into innovative leaders. Students began the day by selecting a topic for which they had passion – topics such as solar energy, water purification, or sustainability,  and then paired this challenge with the concept of mobility. Teams formulated around a topic and stepped through the phases of scoping, research, synthesis, ideation, prototyping, validation and implementing. The solutions presented at the end of the day were impressive! And of course Villanova students dominated the winning team! Comments collected from the students who participated include “a great way to structure brainstorming”, “made me think outside of the box” and “forced everyone’s participation so that no idea was lost”. After the Design Thinking Jam, all students had the opportunity to welcome Max the Biker to Pennsylvania and to learn more about SAP’s initiative to Share the Knowledge.
